Lectures and workshops.
Since 1985 Roel Twijnstra lectured on different theatre schools in The Netherlands and abroad. At the moment he is teaching a honors directing course on UKZN in Durban, South Africa where he also lives. He also gives mastercalsses in Dramaturgy and directing. He wrote three books about directing, dramatury and how to analyse a theatre show. Books that are compulsory on some theatre schools in The Netherlands. In July 2014 his new book was launched “Theatre directing in South Africa” That he wrote together with Emma Durden. The annual novel script project developed by Roel during NAF in Grahamstown is for script writers from SA and the Netherlands.
